A Step-by-Step Approach
Assessors often find that a homeowner is the greatest contributor to unhealthy living conditions. By simply maintaining a cleaner home environment, residents can help reduce indoor air pollutants significantly. Our trained assessors employ a step-by-step approach, which includes:
- Surveillance of the home, school, or child care center: Prior to the inspection, assessors will conduct a general surveillance of the property.
- Walk through: During the walk through, assessors look for factors that are hazardous to the indoor living environment, which may include areas of mold, dust, and/or pet dander.
- Recommendations: Assessors will help make on-site recommendations to residents. This can include improving the home's air circulation or maintaining a cleaner indoor environment.
- Final analysis: Upon completion, the assessor will put together a final report for the homeowner. This overall evaluation includes the hazards, which were identified, and the recommendations that were made.
