Our Mission at Work
Over 20 million Americans suffer from obstructive sleep apnea and roughly 90% of them are not diagnosed and effectively treated because they are unaware of how dangerous the symptoms are. Breathe California of the Bay Area conducts a popular program in which we accept gently used donated CPAP and BiPAP machines donations and redistribute them for a low cost. We currently serve the counties of Santa Clara, Alameda, San Benito, Merced, Madera and Fresno.
Why is CPAP the most popular treatment option?CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, is a noninvasive treatment for moderate to severe sleep apnea. It's a machine that delivers pressurized air, usually through a mask over the nose. The air pressure provides just enough air to prevent the airway from collapsing while sleeping. For most, it is the most reliable and effective treatment and hundreds of thousands of CPAP devices are now being used to treat sleep apnea.
