Blog Posts

Infographics
Our infographics seek to meet the needs of those seeking visual support for their work or interest in the field. These are free to download and use for presentations, reports, and other collateral. Just click on the image you want, then right click to save.
Memes
Memes are a very popular way to communicate ideas and concepts in lighthearted, humorous ways on social media.
Podcasts
Our audio series share the story of male contraception through personal narratives from the research community and the general public. They provide listeners with much needed information on the past, present, and future of male contraceptives, as well as the stories necessary to develop empathy and a deeper sense of connection to the field.
Intended
A podcast from Male Contraceptive Initiative, Intended covers male contraception, learning from the past, talking to the researchers of the present, and listening to the users of the future. Nearly 50% of pregnancies are unintended. Science has intended to get male contraceptives on the market for decades now. What’s happened? Why don’t we have The Pill for men yet?
We Said
“We Said” is men and women telling you how male contraception is going to change their lives. Listen to their motivations, their experiences, and their desires to have new options, together. Because it’s not he said, she said. It’s We Said.
Publications
Funding for male contraceptive research and development is extremely limited, so it is imperative that we capitalize on the existing body of knowledge, while adding to it. We highlight the work that we have funded and contributed to in this manual, and share some additional external publications that can help inform the future of male contraception.
Surveys
Sharing our perspectives with each other is an integral part of developing empathy for each other, while ensuring that there is a collective understanding of experiences. There are many myths and misconceptions about contraception that unfortunately persist due to a lack of open, frank dialogue between partners, loved ones, family, and friends. We utilize surveys to gather and share personal stories about issues related to family planning in an effort to address this while empowering people with a platform to lend their voice to the cause of reproductive autonomy for all. (Please note: Male Contraceptive Initiative reserves the right to use responses to its surveys for promotional purposes. By responding to this, you consent to the use of your responses in our promotional materials. We will endeavor to keep these as anonymous as possible (e.g., use only first names, etc.))
Video Games
Male birth control is a very serious solution to very serious problems, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun as well! Male Contraceptive Initiative works with students and other volunteer game developers to create fun, educational games as an irreverent, unique way to advocate for male birth control to new audiences. In this way, we provide professional learning experiences to students while affording us the opportunity to message in new ways.
Videos
Our videos and webinars share our conversations with luminaries in the field, grantees, and the public. You can also find these and more on our YouTube page.
Webinars and Lemonade Stands
Male Contraceptive Initiative hosts and participates in regular webinars to explore various aspects of the work necessary to develop the next generation of non-hormonal, reversible male contraception, and we attend as many of these online learning experiences as possible. Male Contraceptive Initiative launched a series of virtual discussions affectionately titled “The Lemonade Stand” in order to provide learning opportunities while fostering a sense of collaboration amongst the male contraception research community during the quarantine related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
