We use a series of activities year-round that help the ADULTS AND KIDS learn skills from horses that transfer over into real life
Our location is certified in Equine Facilitated Learning from the Herd Institute, Horsepower Reading certified, and Stable Moments Certified.
We follow the Stable Moments Activities to work on life skills utilizing horses., EFL Herd Model, and Horsepowered Reading activities. The participants we serve learn to ride horses independently and help train horses using clicker training, target training, and natural horsemanship along with riding.
What is Equine Assisted Learning or Equine Facilitated Learning, Equine Expressive Therapy? EAL/EFL. What is our program at Hearts with Hooves? …Our Year-round program EAL/EFL/EET content is developed and organized by credentialed practitioners with the primary intent to facilitate personal growth and development of life skills through equine interactions. Why horses? Horses are Prey animals. Hypervigilant, can sense changes in energy, fly on their back, and Sleep standing up, much like a person surviving trauma.
Who Benefits? Children and Adults ASD (Autism) Down Syndrome, Veteran program, Emotional abuse, trauma abuse, mental health, Anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, depression, and so much more. Bipolar, Drug Exposed.

What challenges does it address?
The participants wait all week to work with their horses, excited, learn all aspects of natural horsemanship, and play games with horses to learn skills but the participant thinks it’s fun! Ride horses, and we are open all year!
