Letter of Invitation 2025
Hello community Partners,
Hearts with Hooves Inc Nonprofit is pleased to present our sponsorship opportunities for the upcoming year. These opportunities enable you to make a significant impact on residents in your area with ADHD, Autism, anxiety, PTSD, depression, children in foster care, at-risk youths and adults, children in the court system, and individuals with developmental disabilities within the local communities we serve. Participants achieve individualized skill goals through Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), which fosters the development of life skills via activities designed to aid in making healthier decisions, enhancing social skills, building healthy relationships, self-regulation, self-confidence, independence, and emotional awareness. Sessions occur weekly, where participants as young as 2 years old through the golden years visit our farm in Matthews, MO, and complete horse-related activities aimed at helping them thrive. For those living further away, we offer weekend and week-long retreats that provide condensed learning experiences.
Depression, Drug, and At-Risk Participants
Children aged 3 to 17 are included if they respond affirmatively to questions about being diagnosed with depression or anxiety by a healthcare provider. The prevalence of these conditions stands at 11.5% nationally and 10% in Missouri. Additionally, every 40 seconds, a child goes missing in the United States. Equine Therapy benefits not only children or those with disabilities but also individuals dealing with substance abuse and behavioral disorders. Investing in children now is crucial in reducing depression and empowering them with life skills necessary for adulthood. While cell phones are ubiquitous, they often contribute to deficits in social skills, healthy relationships, self-esteem, and impulse control. They can also foster bullying and unhealthy relationships. It is essential to equip our future leaders, emergency responders, public safety officers, teachers, parents, and employees with the necessary skills. Our program addresses these issues by meeting each participant where they are, understanding their experiences, and helping them develop self-worth, purpose, decision-making abilities, social skills, independence, self-regulation, and more.
Developmental Disabilities
Equine Therapy is utilized to treat a wide range of conditions, including learning difficulties, ADD/ADHD, autism, Asperger’s, grief, loss, trauma, bipolar disorders, and depression. As Alexa Rostovsky notes, “Horses have no preconceived expectations or motives, and they are non-judgmental, highly intelligent and exceedingly perceptive, so they connect with people in a completely new way.” Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy can support those with developmental disabilities in various ways:
