Field trips to the Farm $400 2-hour on or off site
Experience the Farm experience- Onsite Farm Field trip or have us come to your school!
Children have the opportunity to closely interact with a cow, donkeys, a pig, and two goats during their visit to the farm. Arrival is scheduled for the morning, upon which the group will receive a briefing on safety around animals and some interesting facts about horses and farm animals. There will be various stations set up for the children's enjoyment.
A UTV tour will take participants through a 20-acre field where they can observe horses in their natural environment. The group will be allowed to pet the horses and learn about their lifestyle. Additionally, they will have the chance to pet and feed a cow, two goats, mini horses, and meet our rare breed horses, the Gypsy Vanners, named Legacy and Comet, who are full siblings. Each child will have the unique opportunity to take a photo with these beautiful horses, of which there are only approximately 8,500 left in the United States. Information about this majestic breed can be found at vanners.org.
Participants, including adults, will also have the chance to go on a mentor-led walk or ride on the back of a horse or pony within an enclosed area. While at the farm, children can paint, groom, braid, and care for a horse, as well as wash it off, depending on the temperature and weather conditions. Each child's experience at HWH Farm will be unique due to the interactive nature of the activities.
The cost for a trip to the farm is calculated as follows: you can bring up to 20 children for a 2 hour onsite. The visit includes a UTV ride, horse rides, feeding farm animals (pigs, goats, cow), and painting ponies. Each additional person beyond 20 incurs a charge of $5.00 each, while there is no charge for adults accompanying the group. Please call for scheduling for the 2024-2025 school year. Liability waivers and closed-toed shoes are required for riding; sneakers are acceptable, but Crocs or flip-flops are not permitted due to safety concerns.

This activity can be extended to all grades at the school. We provide a large horse for older children and adults, a pony for smaller children, and Jiggy and French Fry, our very small minis. Costs are $400 (a fuel charge of $50 applies). Liability waivers and closed-toed shoes are required for riding; sneakers are acceptable, but Crocs or flip-flops are not permitted due to safety concerns.
The Rare encounter with 2 Gypsy Vanner Horses, the stunning breed envisioned by the Gypsies of Great Britain. Selectively bred for over half a century, the aim was to create the ideal horse to pull the Gypsy caravan. In 1996, the first Gypsy Vanner Horses arrived in North America, leading to the establishment of the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society as a registry for the breed. The breed, initially unnamed, was given the name Gypsy Vanner Horse because it was bred to pull the colorful caravans, being referred to as a "vanner horse." Often described as a "people-sized" draft horse, the breed's genetic origins include the Shire, Clydesdale, and native British ponies such as the Dales. The Gypsy Vanner is not a color breed but rather a body type characterized by heavy bone and a broad body similar to a draft horse. Most stand 14-15 hands at the withers and come in any color, including solid, tobiano, and splash. The breed is notable for its abundant feathering behind the knees and hocks, as well as its long, flowing mane and tail. The Gypsy Vanner possesses a friendly and engaging temperament, making it suitable for various disciplines, including cart pulling, dressage, jumping, and western pleasure riding. It is a wonderful family horse, popular as a trail or therapy horse due to its calm and reliable nature. Event is tax deductible as charitable donation.
