Learn more about our extensive collection!
For almost 120 years, the Society has been the leader in collecting materials which represent the heritage of our Huntington community. With a mission to document and preserve the history of the Town of Huntington these documents, artifacts, photographs, and other items are made available to the public for viewing and research. Our museum collections are stored and displayed in our two house museums, David Conklin Farmhouse and Dr. Daniel Kissam House, while the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building serves as a venue for special exhibits. The society’s archives are located in the newly restored and expanded Huntington Sewing and Trade School building.
Highlights of our extensive museum collection include items of clothing dating back to the 16th century, furnishings, ceramics (including local stoneware), textiles, tools, fine arts, and dolls.
The society’s archives include documents, photographs, publications, maps, and ephemera relating to the social, economic, and personal history of the town.
