Historic Walking Tours$20 Members; $25 Non-Members
Registration is required for all tours and space is limited. All tours are approximately two hours. Traditional Historic Walking Tours & Historic Centers of Controversy tours are both with the Town of Huntington Historian, Robert C. Hughes. These walking tours will guide you through the notable buildings and events in the history of Huntington Village. Along the way, participants will stop at local establishments (with a great history or in a historic building) to grab a drink before continuing the tour. The Traditional Walking Tour will make two stops: Crabtree's and Finnegan's; the Centers of Controversy tour will make one stop at Six Harbors. Drinks are not included in these tours. This tour will begin at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Building, located at 228 Main Street in Huntington Village. Museum opens at 6 PM, Tour begins promptly at 6:30 PM. Masonic temple tours will by given by Ron Seifried, Chairman, Jephtha Masonic Lodge and Town Historian Robert Hughes. Participants will learn about their history , practices, mission, and historic significance, and will be able to enjoy a drink from the lodge bar. This tour will begin at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Building, located at 228 Main Street in Huntington Village. Museum opens at 6 PM, Tour begins promptly at 6:30 PM. *Arsenal/Kissam House Tour will be given by HHS Trustee Erika Burke. Participants will tour the Arsenal and then cross Park Avenue and tour the 1795 Dr. Daniel W. Kissam house. This tour will begin at the Kissam House at 434 Park Avenue at 3:00 pm. |
