Garden Volunteer OpportunitiesGARDEN GURU
Garden Gurus will lead small groups in the day to day tasks required to keeps Convivium’s gardens healthy. Some gardening experience is helpful, but not required. Those interested in this role should be welcoming, friendly and have some experience leading small groups. We are seeking volunteers for this role who can commit to an entire growing season. GARDEN TENDER Garden Tenders work on the day to day tasks to keep Convivium’s gardens healthy, thriving and productive. Garden experience is beneficial but not required. HARVEST HELPER Harvest Helpers harvest, safely transport, (possibly sample!), clean, and weigh the harvest before handing it off to the kitchens. Garden experience is beneficial but not required. |

Kitchen Volunteer OpportunitiesTEAM LEADER
Kitchen Team Leaders will lead small groups in weekly tasks including food prep, dishwashing, packaging, etc. Leaders should have some experience cooking/baking and be welcoming, friendly, and have some experience leading groups. VEG PREPPER Veg preppers will do variable tasks to process and prepare our garden harvest for use in the kitchens, casseroles or merchandise. PRODUCE PRESERVER Produce preservers help process our harvest in a way that can be enjoyed all year round. Previous cooking or canning experience is helpful, but not required. NUTRITION EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR Nutrition Education Instructors lead healthy cooking classes for families, kids or adults. Curriculum is provided but instructors should have experience cooking and baking. Formal experience teaching or leading groups would also be beneficial. NUTRITION EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR AIDE Nutrition Education Instructor Aides will be an extra set of hands throughout our healthy cooking classes and be open to doing a variety of tasks during class time. Aides should have some experience cooking and baking. Formal experience teaching or leading groups would be beneficial. |
Additional Volunteer Opportunities
ADMIN EXTRAORDINAIRE
Admin Extraordinaire tasks vary and include all the behind the scenes office work required to fulfill our nonprofit’s mission of improving life through food. Volunteers should be flexible and open to a variety of tasks that require attention to detail skills. TOUR GUIDE Tour Guides lead groups on tours that showcase our urban farm and facility and teach participants about our mission. Guides must be able to stand/walk for at least 45 minutes and attend a training. |
CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE/LANDSCAPING
Construction/maintenance/landscaping volunteers work on variable projects to keep the facility working and looking great. Woodworking and construction skills would be helpful but not necessary. FOOD BOX DISTRIBUTOR Free Food Box Distribution volunteers help distribute food and carry boxes to vehicles during our food box distribution events held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. |
