Secret Gardens of the Johns Creek Community
The May 1, 2021 Secret Garden Tour was a SOLD OUT event and a great success! Patrons of the tour were rewarded with a quintessential gorgeous spring day, seven private gardens, Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, live music and artists at work on their craft. One can absolutely say that the day delighted the senses!
The Secret Gardens Tour was a drive-yourself and walking tour and each stop had its own special and charming features including: a beautiful hillside oasis and beehive fireplace; an iris garden; a creek-side garden; a gated, gazebo garden; an orchid green house; and so much more. Over 200 musicians performed in the gardens including ensembles from the Johns Creek Symphony, the Alpharetta Symphony, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Two local high schools and several music schools showcased the talents of students already performing with extraordinary ability. Each garden had one or more artist creatively engaged in their art from painting and pastels to clay and metal sculpting. Many volunteers, including master gardeners, were stationed at the gardens to assist and inform. Did you miss the 2021 tour? If so, plans are in the works for a 2023 Secret Garden Tour so stay tuned. JCB is already searching for local private gardens in the Johns Creek Community for the next tour. Is your garden a possibility? Contact us at info@johnscreekbeautification.org for more information. All proceeds from this event support the work of Johns Creek Beautification and will be specifically earmarked toward the purchase of public art for the city, landscape beautification projects throughout Johns Creek, and to benefit a massive citywide, daffodil planting effort to raise awareness of cancer survivorship through JCB’s partnership with CanCare. |
