Molly Hitchen

Picture
Molly Hitchen was prompted to try yoga during a period of struggle in her life, a period where she felt stuck. When she tried yoga, she noticed her own breath for the first time and that feeling sparked her journey to developing a deep reservoir of resilience and the trusting in her own heart. She now lives with the intention to create space for others to do the same development, both inside and outside of yoga class.

Molly completed her 200-hour Yoga Therapy Teacher Training at the DAYA Foundation with Sarahjoy Marsh, her most influential teacher, in 2013. She also completed an 80-hour Power Yoga Teacher Training in Tulum, Mexico with Bryan Kest and has logged over 100 hours of study with Jules Mitchell, MS, Yoga Therapist and Biomechanist. Molly also holds two certifications in Fascial Stretch Therapy, through the Stretch to Win institute.

Molly started teaching yoga and mindfulness to marginalized populations in 2012 at Bridgeway Recovery, an inpatient center that provides addiction recovery, mental health therapy and primary medical care. She recently also co-facilitated the DAYA Foundation’s 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training in the Department of Corrections in which 12 male adults in custody were certified to teach yoga on the inside to the developmentally delayed population. She currently works as a Strategic Human Resources Consultant and yoga and mindfulness teacher in Salem, Oregon.
