Join Us in Helping Children Thrive
SportsWorks is currently recruiting volunteers for the following positions:
ATHLETIC COACHES (tennis, basketball, flag football, and soccer)
- The Athletic Coaches (ACs) are responsible for teaching lessons on proper form and technique, facilitating drills, explaining the rules of the sport, and teaching good sportsmanship and etiquette.
- The ACs are also responsible for providing and maintaining a safe environment for all participants, including but not limited to, ensuring a well-stocked first aid kit and having a phone available to call 911 in the event of an emergency.
- The ACs are expected to arrive at the facility no later than 15 minutes before the session start time and stay until the program concludes.
- The ACs will make sure the program runs on schedule and that a break for refreshments and the daily devotional occurs at the midpoint of each session and that athletic training resumes promptly after the half-hour break.
- The ACs will take attendance at each session.
- The ACs will wear a name tag and the SportsWorks uniform at each session.
- Each AC is responsible for raising his or her own support money to cover his/her salary. Any money that is raised above the established amount will be divided 50/50 between the AC and SportsWorks. Checks from financial supporters must be made payable to King of the Court Tennis Ministry Inc. A tax-deductible receipt will then be issued to each donor.
- Each AC will be classified as either an independent contractor or a volunteer. He or she will not be an employee of SportsWorks.
Basketball coaches are to study the USA Basketball Youth Development Guidebook.

- The Child Protection Policy form
- The Confidentiality & Privacy Agreement form
- The Ministry Leader Application required by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. When completing the application, please select "Community Sports"
- A complete background check through Verified Volunteers
- A thorough review of the Volunteer Handbook for Coaches
- A thorough review of the Coaches Training Video

MINISTRY LEADERS
- The Ministry Leaders (MLs) are responsible for organizing and preparing Bible lessons over an 8-week period that are age-appropriate for children ages 5 to 12.
- The MLs may use resources and curriculum that are provided to SportsWorks from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes or they may use a curriculum that they design on their own as long as it is approved by SportsWorks. If the ML uses the curriculum provided by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, then he or she will need to complete a FCA Ministry Leader Application.
- The MLs may incorporate Christian testimonies, stories, skits, song, and dance into the curriculum.
- The ML position is a volunteer position. All volunteers will be required to pass a background check before serving at a SportsWorks event. The background check will be completed from the SportsWorks website.

TUTORS AND MENTORS
Helping kids stay on the path to academic success is a priority for us at SportsWorks. We receive requests for tutors and mentors throughout the calendar year. If you have the skills and capability to provide educational support, please reach out to us.

ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEERS (Remote)
SportsWorks has grown into the organization it is today because of the exceptional skills of our volunteers. As we continue to grow, we are looking for additional volunteer support in the following areas (all positions are remote):
