The Phenomenal Pursuit project targets girls “phenoms” who have been labeled as “at-risk” or has had involvement with the juvenile justice or foster systemWe change their mindsets by providing emotional wellness support and teaching leadership traits so that they become successful women. With this program, we are able to combat the increasing youth crime, dropout, teen pregnancy, and unemployment rate within Shelby county. Our phenoms will disrupt the school to prison pipeline while identifying their potential, purpose, and passions

This program includes:
For high school aged girls who attend MSCS, low performance academically, low performance behaviorally, or have been involved or at-risk of involvement with the foster or juvenile justice system. We will meet monthly to support each other in an one-on-one or group setting. Sessions include topics reality check, conflict resolution, and life skills. These youth are also responsible for quarterly community projects that showcases their change and new leadership skills. |
