Director

We live and breathe STAR Camp at our house! I've been involved with this incredible program since I was 10 years old, when I attended Astro Camp for my first time. STAR Camp shaped my life in significant ways, and it is now my absolute joy to direct these programs year-round, with the full support and enthusiasm of my husband and four young children. My educational background is in engineering, which I love. My career has taken me more on a path through education and mentorship, which it turns out I also really love. I am so blessed to be able to live and share my passion for STEM education every day!

I attended Astro Camp at 15 years old, and returned as a team leader for the two following summers. I'm thrilled to rejoin the STAR Camp team! I received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering in 2009 from Utah State University, before receiving a four year commission as  2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force.
I served for 4 years on active duty at Vandenberg AFB, CA, working with ground support launch systems. After the Air Force, I became a full time stay at home mom before returning to school for a Master's Degree Certificate in Teaching. I have loved teaching math to 8th and 9th graders for the last 4 years. I love time at home with my husband and six kids.  You will usually find me playing board games, enjoying food, planning a summer camping trip, or geeking out over yet another way to solve a math puzzle.

I am an engineer with over 7 years of experience in educational robotics, leading FRC teams in international competitions and winning awards such as Engineering Inspiration, Innovation in Control, and Creativity Award. I am passionate about STEAM education. I teach at summer camps in China, inspiring young minds to explore technology, innovation, and problem-solving.

I first dabbled in Star Camp way back in my middle school years.  I remember the missions we ran and the fun of being with my friends.  I have been in education the past twenty years and I enjoy working with young people of all ages.  I currently teach in a seventh grade English class.  In my spare time I like to read and watch movies.  I am excited to be part of this summer’s Star Camps. Bon Appetit!

Hi! This is my first year working as a staff member at STAR camp. I attend Weber Innovation High School, where I have been a student government member for two years. Along with that, this upcoming year I am going to be our school store manager! Academics have always been so important to me; I’m so excited to encourage a love for learning among the campers. Beyond schooling, I love hiking, journaling, supporting my local hockey team, and collecting all forms of music. I’m looking forward to meeting all returning and new campers!

Hi!! I’m so excited to be a team leader this year! I’ve been working with STAR Camp throughout the school year, leading in-classroom field trips. I’ve always loved learning about space and science, and I’m thrilled to share that excitement with all the kids.
In my spare time, I enjoy all kinds of art, including animation, crochet, and jewelry-making, as well as listening to music and theater. I can’t wait for camp to start and to help the campers have an amazing time this summer!!

I am excited to be a Mission Specialist this year.  I was able to attend Star Camp last summer and it was amazing.  I loved it, especially helping and doing the missions.  I attend Spectrum Academy High School.  My favorite subject in school is Biology because I love Science and enjoy doing experiments.  I am Autistic and my Science teacher is as well and I like that he understands me. Lover of all things werewolves and video games, embracing my unique perspective as an autistic individual. I navigate life with passion and creativity!

I’ve been coming to STAR Camp since I was… well I can’t remember when. This is my second year on staff. I enjoy playing video games and staying active through AFJROTC activities. With a passion for teamwork and leadership, I bring both enthusiasm and dedication to everything I can.

I attended Astronaut Training Camp last year and I'm back for more! It was an amazing experience. I learned so much and had a great time. I love STEM, learning new things, and being a social butterfly. I'm currently a Girl Scout in Troop #2579 and working on the highest award I can achieve in Girl Scouts, the Gold Award. When I grow up, I want to be an obstetrician or a general medical doctor. Dreams have no limits, so hold them tight and shoot for the stars!

Hello! I've attended Star camp since 2018 and loved every year of it. This will be my first year attending as a staff member. I go to Roy High School and I'm going into my junior year. I'm part of the Roy High Royal band, Jazz band and I am also in Mountain Star Marching band.
