In-Person Classroom Visits

Science Center (grades K-6):
Choose two topics from the SEEd aligned Earth and Space curriculum. Students will be immersed in hands-on learning through experiments and demonstrations with a STAR Camp instructor in the classroom. Science Center experiences conclude with a visit from one of our crazy scientists!
Engineering Challenge (grades 3-6):
Students will be immersed in the engineering design process, as they discover classroom-sized solutions to life-size problems. Students will identify criteria and constraints, develop a prototype for iterative testing, analyze data from testing, and propose and present modifications for optimizing the design solution. Teachers will see a model of how engineering principles can be applied to scientific concepts.
Time: 2 hours
Cost: $150/class
We can accommodate two classes at a time, and up to four classes at the same school in one day.

Quick Science (K-6)
Choose
one topic from our hands-on, SEEd aligned space and earth curriculum. This is a great option for unique topic introduction or review. No crazy scientist visit included.

In-Classroom Field Trip Testimonials

"The interaction with the students and the instructors was great. Students loved the simulation and their parts. I loved how engaged my students were and how much they learned. I also loved how Mission to the Moon aligned with our science standards."

Kate Todd
Grade 6 Teacher
Centerville Elementary
"It was a very hands on experience when students got to use creative problem solving skills to design a steerable floating device. They could come up with their own ideas and test them. Several of the teams revised their original ideas if they did not work or refined them to make it work better. All in all, the students learned a lot and they enjoyed the activity very much."

Katalin Gibson
Grade 3 Teacher
Polk Elementary
"The kids loved something new! They loved talking about working as a team and being able to see how science can fit into their real life and goals for school."

Stacey Nance
Grade 6 Teacher
Shadow Valley Elementary
