Program Ambassador
The Sages & Seekers Ambassador Program is designed to assist our program staff in recruiting participants and facilities for our online and in-person programs. There is no better way to grow our programs than utilizing the enthusiasm and testimonials of our own participants!
Sage AmbassadorAs an ambassador, you will tell your friends and community members about the benefits of Sages & Seekers and then get them to apply. The only requirement for becoming an Ambassador is that you have completed our 7 or 8 week program online or in-person. Ambassadors will receive flyers, videos, and other marketing materials to promote the program as well as join quarterly Zooms with other Ambassadors to learn about upcoming sessions. We expect you will spend approximately 2-3 hours a month in this volunteer job, however, you can spend more or less time- it’s up to you. Seeker AmbassadorThe Sages & Seekers Ambassador Leadership Program is designed to help high school and college students gain the skills you need to initiate change in your community and the world at large. As an Ambassador, you will play a vital role in the growth of Sages & Seekers. Using your networking, marketing, and motivational skills, you will recruit and enroll teens for our online and in-person programs. You will be a part of a national network of high school Seeker Ambassadors working together to combat social isolation and develop empathy for others. Facilitator Jobs
We are looking for facilitators for our in-person programs at one or more Los Angeles area high schools for the 2023-2024 school year. The Program Facilitator implements the Sages & Seekers curriculum and serves as the “guide” for our program, attending each 8-week session and guiding the participants through the program. Internships
Sages & Seekers offers internship opportunities for high school and college students. The number of hours per week and length of internship to be determined. Internship responsibilities may include:

- Help with outreach to social service agencies, senior centers, CCRCs, schools, and youth organizations to recruit participants
- Create social media posts for S&S
- Help develop new course curriculum (eg. conduct research and create new topics for our cross generational problem solving course)
- Observe S&S virtual and in-person programs
- Assist program facilitator during in-person and/or online programs
- Assist with projects as requested by the Executive Director

Volunteer Opportunities
Sages & Seekers is looking for volunteers for a variety of positions. Even if you are not of Sage age (60+) or Seeker age (15-24), we still have ways for you to get involved. Time commitments may vary. All opportunities are flexible and you can devote as much as or as little time as you'd like. Sage Salon Coordinator
Salons offer Sages the opportunity to stay connected with other older adults who are interested in continuing to engage in meaningful conversation. Salons meet virtually 1-4 times per month. The Salon Coordinator will be the point of contact for interested new participants. They will help organize new Salons (emailing Zoom link & discussion questions) and serve as the point of contact for Salon leaders. They will keep track of all the Salon meeting times to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts on Zoom.

Zoom Techs volunteer for one or more session times for a full 8-week program and/or can be available to fill in for another tech person if they are unavailable.

Session Substitute*
Sages and Seekers occasionally inform Sages & Seeker staff that they are unable to attend one of their sessions. In these cases, a staff person will contact the Session Substitutes to see if they are available to fill in for that one session and talk with the absent participant’s partner. Substitutes can fill in for online and/or in-person programs.

Sage Welcome Committee
Welcome new Sages into our community by reaching out to new participants before and after their first program. Committee members will contact Sage applicants who are 80+ prior to their program to assess their computer abilities. They will also follow up with Sages after their program to solicit feedback, answer questions, and encourage them to join a future session.
