Friday BIPOC Sit and Dharma Offering
Online | Fridays 12:00pm to 1:00pm Pacific Time
Assaya Sangha welcomes you to its ongoing meditation and Dharma offering for self-identified BIPOC women, led by Ramona Lisa Ortiz-Smith and Shakthi Ganeshan. We define the acronym BIPOC as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. In brief, “BIPOC is used as a unifying identity label for people of color that also emphasizes the unique racial experiences of Black people and Indigenous people (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/bipoc).” BIPOC is an evolving term, and we look forward to working with the BIPOC women who participate in this offering to support the term’s evolution and make it even more inclusive. Our hope is to share the Dharma and practice meditation in a safe, supportive, and inclusive way. We look forward to evolving with you. See the Event Calendar for details.

Joining Community
Having good friends on the spiritual path was acknowledged by the Buddha as a true blessing and the Sangha (spiritual community) is essential to awakening. Within Assaya, we have different opportunities for community members to socialize, support each other, and cultivate heart-felt connections. Here is a list of these opportunities with more logistical information on the Event Calendar.
Affinity Group Meetups (At Monday Night Meditation)
In person | 6:30pm to 7:00pm Pacific Time

Affinity meet-up groups rotate and include BIPOC, Young Adults, LGBTQ+, and Mothers of Young Children.
Please check the Event Calendar to confirm dates, as meet-ups may shift if the Monday night practice is moved to Zoom or canceled.
