Joining Community
Having good friends on the spiritual path was acknowledged by the Buddha as a true blessing and the Sangha (spiritual community) is essential to awakening. Within Assaya, we have different opportunities for community members to socialize, support each other, and cultivate heart-felt connections.
Here is a list of these opportunities with more logistical information on the Event Calendar.
Affinity Group Meetups (At Monday Night Meditation)
In person | 6:30pm to 7:00pm Pacific Time
Assaya Monday night affinity meet-ups are peer-led gatherings that provide a space to check in about life and practice before joining the full Assaya Monday Night Meditation session at 7:00 PM. These meet-ups are in-person only; there is no Zoom option.
Affinity meet-up groups rotate and include BIPOC, Young Adults, LGBTQ+, and Mothers of Young Children.
Please check the Event Calendar to confirm dates, as meet-ups may shift if the Monday night practice is moved to Zoom or canceled.

Book Group
The Assaya Sangha book group meets every other month, usually on Sunday afternoon. We meet in person at a sangha sister's home in the East Bay, and some of us attend via Zoom. Check the Event Calendar for the exact dates and times, and for the Zoom link.
