Generational HBCU Wealth Initiative (2021)In 2021, after the tragedy of George Floyd, many companies were interested in hiring HBCU students to diversify their companies. The Deb Moss Project was approached by a couple of folks to be the catalyst for corporate companies since they did not have relationships with HBCUs like the Deb Moss Project. Shortly after, The Deb Moss Project was approached by the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) to collaborate on an HBCU initiative to save our HBCUs that were started by churches by bringing them up to the 21st Century by way of their business design, curriculum, top graduates, and work-ready candidates for corporate job opportunities upon graduation.

Here is how the Emerging Leaders Program helps people to lead their way in future |
"The Emerging Leaders Program helped me recognize the fact that I already possess many similar values and knowledge essential to leadership. With the guidelines and structure of the program, I have found a new confidence in myself that continues to benefit me both personally and professionally. I was also thrilled with the caliber of speakers and experts that have spent time with us and freely shared their wisdom with us. An entirely new network of colleagues and executives and awesome leaders has been opened up to me. I believe that a leader puts him or herself in a position to seek change, to chart a course for success, and to encourage others to forge ahead. I will take the lessons that I learned from this program and seek out opportunities to push forward in my career, and to use the skills that I’ve been gifted with to make a mark. One of my key takeaways is that life changing moments are defined by bold actions. So I will be BOLD in helping to ensure that my vision for the future of government that is a more equitable throughout all positions in culture, race, and gender is realized by being innovative, taking action and being confident in every position that I hold going forward. Through this program my goal was to assess my strengths, grow in my confidence in public speaking, develop my leadership style and effectively cultivate the ability to sustain and channel my enthusiasm throughout my career. I can say with a resounding confidence that this program was all of that, and more! In the midst of the pandemic the Emerging Leaders Program has been an unexpectedly remarkable outlet for advice, support and peer relationship building."

"Over the last 8 months, I have had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the first Emerging Leaders Cohort. When I first found out about the program, I must admit I was apprehensive about it because I am also a full-time student on top of my day-to-day employment. However, after speaking with one of my mentors I was sold and knew this would be an opportunity of a lifetime. During the cohort, our facilitators created a dynamic syllabus with an all-star group of teachers who poured a wealth of knowledge into me. Not only was I able to take notes that I can refer to when needed, I also made many LinkedIn connections that I can continue to build professional relationships that can help me get to my next level of leadership. To have orchestrated this type of program in a virtual environment I know that it took a lot of work, I am thankful for my cohort sisters and facilitators because now I have an enlarged network and will continue to SOAR to new heights. I would love to give back any way that I can for the cohorts to come. If its one thing I’ve learned during this time it is to share the wealth and help the next group of leaders and I look forward to doing just that."

"The Emerging Leaders Fellows Program is one of the most significant investments one can decide to make in their life! “This program is a treasure chest that contains many valuable gems! Once selected, the ride of your life shall begin. First, one will have to be emotionally honest and present to oneself, then the beauty of discovery can begin. Please look forward to being presented with a strong and rigorous curriculum to take the participant to the next level in Leadership, networking, and career development. Next, expect to meet the “Fantastic Three,” which consists of Ms. Deb Moss, Mrs. Cherie Brown, and Mr. Nate Paxton. The intellectual and emotional humility that they display is outstanding, and they are heroes. This comprehensive eight-month program will require dedication, accountability, and consistency. Each participant will be paired up with a fantastic mentor, participate in robust panel discussions, read books that speak to leadership, and many other great activities. Indeed, this was a miracle to have been a part of this cohort, participate and graduate. Now, paying it forward and give back by serving is the goal as promised in the beginning. The Emerging Leaders Fellows Program is one of the most significant investments that one can decide to make in their life!” If a leader wants to be on the cutting edge of success, apply for the Emerging Leaders Fellows Program today!"

"I am so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of the first Emerging Leaders cohort hosted by the Deb Moss Project. This provided me with a creative outlet as I was adjusting to working from home during the pandemic. I enjoyed attending all the informative discussions and getting to hear from many successful leaders. During a short period of time, I was able to build connections with like-minded peers and accomplish several team projects. In addition to that, I had the opportunity to be mentored by a wonderful leader and plan to continue building my leadership skills as I forward my career. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to further their career and become a successful leader."

"The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a rigorous program that delivers outstanding lessons and skills required to become a well-rounded leader in the workforce. I gained confidence throughout the process as I learned how to work with and lead a team of diverse personalities, address and resolve complex issues in high-pressure situations, and develop my communication skills. The most beneficial aspect of the ELP is mentorship. My mentor not only encouraged me to remain resilient when encountering roadblocks but also taught me how to grow through uncomfortable moments. The importance of teamwork is also highlighted in the program. There are numerous projects that require cooperation, coordination, and most importantly, expectations. These skills and tools acquired in the program assisted in my career development, and ultimately landed me a new position as a Foreign Affairs Officer. I am forever grateful to Deb, Cherie, and Nate for their passion and dedication in developing the next round of emerging leaders. Their tireless work and commitment in inspiring leadership in persons of all ages and backgrounds continue to be fruitful."
