YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - SPRING 2025 - Overview
Lambda Archives is excited to announce our third annual paid youth internship program! This internship is for San Diego County and Imperial County LGBTQIA+ teens, ages 16-19 as of March 29, 2025.

Participants will:
- Work approx. 33.25 hours total from March 29 - June 14, 2025 and receive $665 (approx. $20/hr)
- Work with peers and staff at Lambda Archives
- Work independently and as part of a group
- Work remotely and in-person
- Receive guidance on all project elements by Lambda staff
Projects Include:
- Connecting with an elder in the local LGBTQIA+ community and interviewing them for our Intergenerational Oral History Project (Read through the participating interviewees' bios here)
- Conducting research in the Archives on topics that came up in the interview
- Creating a history project based on your oral history interview and research. Deliverables include:
- Historical bio(s)
- Research-based article & personal reflection for special edition newsletter
- In-person and digital exhibit contributions
- Interactive exhibit element or educational activity
- (Optional) art work or other creative elements
- Participating in INCON - an intergenerational connection event on April 26th
- Presenting your project in an exhibit at Lambda Archives on June 1st
- Participating in a resume workshop and updating your resume with your new experience
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age 16-19 years old as of March 29, 2025
- Resides in San Diego County or Imperial County
- Willing and able to obtain a work permit if required (see your local school district for questions)
- A way to join virtual sessions (can join from onsite at Lambda instead, using a Lambda desktop if needed)
- Availability to actively participate in virtual sessions (these are working meetings)
