Amik Run Mission StatementWith gentleness, honesty, patience and understanding, we strive to be the best we can be, for our animals, our friends and ourselves. By using natural abilities of communication and the inspiration of dreams, our goal of peaceful living and spiritual healing meld together in a quest for comfort and safety for all.
The farm known as Amik Run was founded on a dream inspired by an amazing horse, Amik Jubal of Xanadu, and his then sixteen-year-old partner, Laurie. As the duo traversed the miles of time and travel, they went from a starved, very ill horse into a multiple champion; and a much damaged young lady, into a joyous and gifted trainer. Founded in 2010, in 2017 the 501(c)(3) animal sanctuary of Equestrian Spirits, Inc. found their forever home in Morriston, Florida reestablishing themselves on the grounds now known as Amik Run. This farm is also home of the Centaur programs and AH-HA teaching center. The Centaur programs are offered to adults and youth in a variety of courses from working student, community service or apprenticeships to scout badges, 4H record book keeping or hands-on animal care. AH-HA (All Holistic Hearts for Animals) was formed in honor of one of our co-founders, Lynn S. Peck, DVM. As our friend and veterinarian for over 20 years, Lynn was instrumental in the quality well-being of our residents and for ongoing education in holistic animal care. As a teacher as well as a student, if Lynn wasn’t teaching she was learning. Continuing education was as important to her as the quality and depth of her work. When Lynn was finally taken from us after a longstanding challenge from cancer, she had still been planning classes into the new year. Playing a significant role in the acquisition of our forever home, her teaching seminars and classes had been a lifelong high priority. In our promise to her, we restructured what was supposed to be her educational center into a similar but layman-like series of programs centering on holistic healing and learning. Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Fairness, Kindness, Dedication, Respect, Hard Work, Thoughtfulness, Patience, Responsibility, Understanding, Tolerance, Awareness, Teamwork. Motto: “Anything forced and misunderstood, can never be beautiful.” Xenophon 430BC |
