Shawn R. MeloyShawn Meloy, an oboist, pianist, and composer residing in Olympia, has been actively involved in music education since 2005. His teaching journey began when he took charge of the junior orchestra within the Capitol Area Youth Symphony Association. Since then, Shawn has cultivated a thriving private studio where he imparts musical knowledge to students of all ages. His expertise spans various instruments, including oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and piano, as well as music composition.
Shawn’s educational background includes studies at Pacific Lutheran University, where he focused on music composition and oboe performance. During this time, he had the unique opportunity to collaborate with Bernard Shapiro, the Principal Emeritus oboist of the Seattle Symphony.
