Chief Executive Office
Delton York, a transformational leader, has journeyed from a Human Services Specialist to the Chief Executive Officer and President of Kirkland Ministries Inc. His role involves formulating, developing, and implementing long-term care plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With over 20 years of experience in the human services sector, Mr. York's career evolution is a testament to his dedication and leadership. He began his journey in 2003 as a Human Services Specialist and after more than a decade as a sole proprietor, he transformed his services into a corporation in mid-2016, expanding his capacity to serve vulnerable populations.
Mr. York's early work was marked by his commitment to creating and executing community care plans to ensure the well-being of underprivileged individuals. As demand for his services grew, he dedicated personal and business resources to expanding his offerings, which by 2006 included financial aid, transportation, utility assistance, and home care services. His commitment to advocacy and his collaboration with Community Resource Coordination Groups (CRCG) are testaments to his dedication to championing human rights and providing social work, behavioral health, and therapeutic services.
In 2007, Mr. York operated a foster home for troubled boys, which kindled his passion for broader-scale care. He shifted his focus from foster care to gaining expertise in group homes and independent living, laying the foundation for the continued growth of his organization. By May 2016, with the assistance of a consultant team, he elevated Kirkland Ministries to have an even more significant impact on local, state, and federal levels.
Before pursuing his career in human services, Mr. York proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, where he held various military roles. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Upper Iowa University and a Master's Degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Additionally, Mr. York has 27 years of experience in human resource management and consulting, further enriching his leadership at Kirkland Ministries.
