COVID PRECAUTIONS:
If you are sick or experiencing symptoms related to COVID, please stay home. (Honestly, you should stay home no matter what and have some chicken soup.) Unvaccinated individuals are asked to wear a mask when interacting with volunteers or at packet pickup.
WEATHER:
It looks to be a chilly first day of 2022, with a 53% chance of snow showers. We can't be sad about that - we need it! We're looking at a high of about 28 with much lighter winds at only 7 mph on Saturday. Please be sure to dress warmly with plenty of layers. Remember what the Norwegians say: "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing."
COURSE:
This year, we're taking off from Centennial Park and headed toward the tunnels on Tunnel Drive. Both distances will have an opportunity to go under at least one tunnel.
AID STATIONS:
There will be a water aid station at the 5K turnaround (halfway point). The run starts and ends at Centennial Park. (Please note that snow may effect our ability to station aid at either location.)
PARKING:
Parking is FREE and easy at Centennial Park, or on the other side of the river at the parking area just south of Veteran's park. Turn on 3rd St. to access this parking lot.
KID'S RACES:
Bring along your little runners for a FREE kid's race. We'll have a nice, easy toddler trot around the park area and short (.5 miles) kid-friendly run. All participants in the kids' race get a finishers' prize. These will be held at about 10:30 and 10:45 respectively.

5K COURSE
The Resolution Run course follows the Arkansas Riverwalk from Centennial Park to Tunnel Drive. The 5K course is approximately 3.58 miles long (a bit more that your average 5K) so that you'll be able to reach the first historic Tunnel - a highlight along the route. Turn at the tunnel and head back (downhill) the way you came and return to the park.
10K COURSE
The Resolution Run 10K course follows the Arkansas Riverwalk from Centennial Park to Tunnel Drive. You'll pass through three historic tunnels, the third one about 100 meters long, and emerge to run another stretch along the river, passing Grape Creek, the Royal Cascade future trailhead, two historic bridges, and the mouth of the famed Royal Gorge. Turn at the designated turnaround point or go all the way to the end for an extra 1/2 mile, and then head back (downhill) the way you came and return to the park.
