Evangelism + DiscipleshipACM incorporates evangelism and discipleship into every aspect of ministry. We are committed to working with local churches to share the good news of Jesus Christ and provide Christians with opportunities to cultivate a relationship with him.
Jesus said in the book of Matthew, “Go and make disciples of all nations...” We do that by proclaiming the Gospel, preaching in local churches, and showing the Jesus film. Additionally, ACM’s social workers and staff pastors regularly share the good news of Jesus, while mentoring students and working with their families. Our nurses at the Lubega Medical Clinic also pray with their patients daily. In Matthew, Jesus went on to say, “and teach them (his disciples) to obey everything I have commanded you.” At ACM, we are not only committed to evangelism, but also to discipling believers, preparing church leaders, and providing theological education to pastors. Each week, our social workers teach Christian Character Development at our partnering schools. Each month, ACM shares Bible stories at "Activity Days" (similar to Vacation Bible School). Our Proverbs 31 Women’s Ministry seeks to disciple and encourage women, while also providing them with a source of income. Lastly, we equip pastors and church leaders with the tools they need to shepherded their sheep through our RAISE UP Ministry. |
RAISE UP FOR CHRIST
ACM’s RAISE UP facilities were built in obedience to the Great Commission: To Go and To Teach. This facility provides a setting for training pastors and church leaders in biblical studies. Additionally, this facility serves as a Christian education center for conducting leadership seminars, BTCP (Bible Training Center for Pastors) courses, and for preparing pastors for church planting and discipleship. The RAISE Up facilities consist of a Bible resource center and classroom, a guesthouse for visiting educators, and Elijah House dormitory for student pastors and church leaders.
In 2010, ACM started a Mobile Bible Training Center for Pastors program to expand theological education to pastors and church leaders in outlying areas who do not speak English, but want to be equipped for the ministry to which God has called them. The mobile training center locations are strategically chosen and the training takes about 30 months to complete. Each month, students gather for a weekend course. Additionally, three times a year, students gather for a two week intensive training session before returning to their families and congregations.
We love hosting U.S. pastors, seminary professors, and Bible students on short-term trips to help teach our student pastors and church leaders. Please contact ACM, if you are interested in learning more about this ministry.
Financial donations to ACM make it possible to provide this training at no cost to students. Instead, students only pay a subsidized cost for books. Please contact us, if you are interested in learning more about this ministry or if you are interested in a short-term training trip. We love hosting U.S. pastors, seminary professors, and theology students.
The RAISE UP Ministry was named in memory of Rebecca Leighow and stands for the Rebecca Ann Institute of Study and Evangelism for Ugandan People. Rebecca lived her life in obedience to Matthew 25: 35-36.
