ABOUT ACM

ACM exists to glorify God by providing Christ-centered support to communities in East Africa. For over two decades we have invested in Uganda and Kenya, living in the communities we serve. Through the dedication of time and resources from many people like you, the resilience and pride of the people we work with, and God’s grace, our communities are being transformed for Christ, and we are watching some of our earliest sponsored children lead organizations, graduate from universities, and choose marriage and family for their lives. This is so encouraging as we continue to invest in long-term care and deep discipleship for His glory.

​ACM reaches out to children in destitute circumstances to end the cycle of poverty by partnering with local churches and communities to provide support through child-sponsorships, discipleship, education, school feeding programs, pastor training, medical clinics, providing access to clean water, and so much more.

A STRONG CALLING TO SERVE

In 1989, God gave Wayne Daniel the vision of opening a Christian home for street children when he visited Meru, Kenya on a short-term mission trip. Wayne returned to Kenya with his wife, Mary, for three months the following year. The Daniel’s became resident field missionaries in September 1991, and established a ministry for orphaned, abandoned, homeless and destitute children in Meru, Kenya. The Daniel’s took in six children to live with them in 1992. African Children’s Mission grew out of that ministry and today operates in both Kenya and Uganda.

ACM was officially formed and registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1996 as a support base in the United States to facilitate fundraising for the ministry’s work. ACM’s Board of Directors is dedicated to providing financial and spiritual accountability for the ministry, staff, and missionaries that continue the work the Lord began through the Daniels family.

The mission of African Chil­dren’s Mission is to reach out to children in destitute circumstances, both physically and with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to enable them to grow and develop in a secure environment, using Christian values and principles as the foundation of its min­istry and programs, guiding them into a responsible, productive life, and discipling them through word and example.

NEW LOGO SAME MISSION

​Our logo serves as a reminder of why we began and why we must continue. Our refreshed logo retains an image of Doris, one of ACM’s first sponsored children, whose face appears on ACM’s original logo. Doris was the physically, mentally, and emotionally abused and neglected daughter of a mentally ill mother. Doris came to live with Mary and Wayne Daniel as they were beginning their ministry to street children in Meru, Kenya. Doris’s heart wrenching story stayed with the Daniel’s throughout their time serving in Africa. God used Doris to motivate the Daniel’s to help other children like her who were suffering in Kenya and Uganda.

​Doris’s profile displayed in front of the continent of Africa, highlights ACM’s focus of transforming the lives of children and communities throughout East Africa. The green color reflects hope, growth, and transformation, which is happening, as ACM has faithfully worked to proclaim the Gospel and improve the lives of individuals in the communities we serve.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE....

1. That the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old Testament and the New Testament, is the complete Word of God, the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; Jude 3)
2. That there is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; Luke 3:21-22)
3. That the Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:18, 3:16; Phil. 2:5-11)
4. That man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that as a consequence, all mankind is declared by God to have inherited a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Gen. 1:26-27, 2:16-17, 3:6-19; Rom. 3:10-23, 7:18, 11:32; Gal. 3:22)
5.  That the Lord Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary and complete sacrifice for the sins of the world, and that only those who believe in Him are saved, and this on the basis of His shed blood. (Rom. 3:24-28, 5:8-10; 1 Tim. 2:5-6; 1 John 2:1-2)
6. That the Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead; that He ascended into heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father as Head of the Church. (John 20:1-19; Acts 1:9-11; Eph. 1:20-23; Heb. 1:3)
7. That both the believer and the unbeliever will also be resurrected: the saved unto everlasting bliss; the lost unto everlasting and conscious punishment. (1 Cor. 15:1-50; 1 Thes. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15, 21:22)
8. That on the sole condition of grace through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, men are born again by the Holy Spirit; that at regeneration, all believers in this age are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, in the Body of Christ, and sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. (Rom. 3:24-28, 8:9-11; 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 4:30)
9. That sanctification, which is separation unto God, is threefold: positionally, the believer was sanctified at his conversion by virtue of his union with Christ; progressively, he is continually being sanctified through the Word as he walks in the Spirit, thereby overcoming the lusts of the flesh and producing the fruit of the Spirit; ultimately, he will be completely conformed to the image of Christ when he sees Him face to face. (John 17:17; Eph. 5:26; Col. 3:1-4; Heb. 10:14; 1John 3:1-3)
10. That the Lord Jesus Christ will return to this earth personally, visibly, and bodily, to receive unto Himself His Church. (John 14:3; Acts 1:10-11; Eph. 1:22-23; 1 Thes. 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14; Heb. 9:28; Phil. 3:20-21
