Our Vision 2023
We have a vision of becoming the most Veteran friendly County in the State of Texas by working with our local elected officials, business leaders, and citizens to build a first-class multipurpose facility. Veterans have shared with us their desire for a smoke free family friendly facility with interdisciplinary professionals ready and able to assist them and their loved ones. An innovative and state of the art facility supported by public and private funding to help transition from military life to civilian life.
Over the last five-years, we have listened to the Veteran community and their vision is clear. Veterans want a place to work out and exercise while their children enjoy a TV room or game room. Spouses of Veterans want a place to learn how to paint or decorate a cake as they connect with other spouses. Children of Veterans want a counselor to assist them with accessing their parents VA benefits for college.
Veterans and their families want and deserve a facility that is designed by them and for them. A place that will instill tranquility and cultivate hope. A place never seen before for Veterans and their families.
The vision to build a first-class multipurpose facility for the 23,000+ Galveston County Veterans and their families will require a mid to large partial of land accessible to one of the major thoroughfares. A location that could house a building to host multiple offices and an adjacent community center. The property would have the capacity to expand into transition homes with walking trails that would be home to beautiful landscapes. It would have land available for an outdoor park that would accommodate children with disabilities and a large pavilion for festivals.
Anything is possible. A facility of this magnitude will require grant money, state and federal funding, and most importantly local support. With your help, we can make this Veteran multipurpose facility a reality. No dream is too big when people are willing to come together for the greater good of heroes.

In a Letter from U.S. Congressman Randy Weber of Texas' 14th District:
"It is with great honor and privilege that I recognize you for your work to distinguish and revere the Veterans of Galveston County." "Through your efforts, you are making Galveston County -- and in turn, the Fourteenth Congressional District of Texas -- one of the most Veteran friendly counties in Texas!" |
