​Since 2018, we have worked to support the children in care at Numan Orphanage, Assela, Ethiopia

​Ethiopia has one of the largest populations of orphans in the world: 13% of children throughout the country are missing one or both parents.  We want to positively impact the children of Numan and those families that live in the surrounding areas.  By giving our children a nurturing childhood, sending them to school to get an education we hope to break the cycle of poverty and give them a much better life. We also want to be there for their community so children can stay in their birth families.

​SPONSORSHIP

There are 15 children currently residing at Numan Orphanage and our goal is to secure financial sponsorship for each. Sponsorship covers the cost of education, housing, food and clothing. 

How sponsorships works:  

• Each child that you choose to sponsor will have your photograph and know that you are there to support them and watch them succeed
• One year minimum commitment (ideally)
• Sponsorships can be paid monthly or annually
• You will receive monthly updates and pictures of your sponsored friend

 Costs: 

• Full sponsorship: $175 per month (young child, not yet in school); $225 per month (school-age child). Partial sponsorships are also available. Please contact us to discuss your interest and support level desired.
• Education-only sponsorship: $275 per year.
• Medical sponsorship: varying amounts. Please contact us to learn more.

​DONATIONS

​We welcome your donations (also fully tax deductible) towards the general operational expenses of the orphanage.  Donations also are used to help support community members, with intent on keeping a child with his or her birthparent or birth family.
