fire relief in Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas

​We are currently accepting donations and applications​ for Assistance

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is here to provide immediate financial assistance to music industry professionals impacted by natural disasters. Applications will be taken during a short stretch of time surrounding the disaster, but donations are always welcome. 
​
Grants will be issued to those that can show proof of destruction of, or damage to property or music equipment from any sudden, unexpected, or unusual event such as a flood, hurricane, tornado, fire, earthquake or even volcanic eruption. Funds raised will go towards loss of music-related equipment, medical bills related to the event, and other vital-living expenses.

Natural Disaster Relief Fund - Application

Eligibility Requirements:
  • At least 3 years where more than 50% of your income came from employment in the music industry or as a musician, and currently negatively impacted by a natural disaster.
Required Documentation: Please include the following items required with the completed application: (Applications will not be processed without this information)
  • Proof of Music Industry Employment (one or more; publications, link to ASCAP or BMI repertoire, note from employer(s), tax returns, paystubs, liner notes)
  • A biography, resume, or discography
  • Documentation of loss

MusiCares
MusiCares is a resource to music professionals impacted by natural disasters, including the fires in the Los Angeles area. We provide short-term and long-term disaster relief related to evacuation and relocation costs, instrument replacement/repair, home damage, medical care, mental health services, & other essential living needs.

Entertainment Community Fund
The Entertainment Community Fund has opened applications for financial relief for all performing arts and entertainment professionals.

Backline
Backline connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health & wellness resources. You can reach out to them via their case submission form and a Case Manager will contact you to help you get the long-term support you need. LA County Assessor's Office
Property owners may be eligible for tax relief if their property is damaged or destroyed by a calamity, such as fire or flooding. To qualify, individuals must file an Application for Reassessment: Property Damaged or Destroyed by Misfortune or Calamity with the Assessor's Office within 12 months from the date the property was damaged or destroyed

Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control
Find a list of shelters that are available for animals affected by the evacuation orders.

Pasadena Humane Society 
The Pasadena Humane Society is providing shelter and care for animals that have been displaces due to the fires. 
MENTAL HEALTH
SAMHSA Disaster Distress Helpline
The Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH) is the first national hotline dedicated to providing year-round disaster crisis counseling.

CalHOPE
CalHOPE delivers crisis support for communities impacted by a national disaster. 

L.A. County Department of Mental Health
​If you or your loved ones are experiencing mental health distress related to the wildfires in California, do not hesitate to ask for help. 24/7 support and resources are available through our Help Line at (800) 854-7771 and through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

LA County Department of Aging and Disabilities
 The Aging & Disabilities (AD) department serves the growing older adult,  dependent adult, and adults with disabilities population in Los Angeles County.
