One-to-One Mentor
Enrich a young person’s life and your own as well! At least 3-5 hours per
month is required as well as participation in several networking and training events each year. Ultimately, the goal is to mentor the student until she/he graduate and enter a career. To become a mentor, you must:

Specifics responsibilities can include:
- Support a young person through an ongoing, one-to-one relationship
- Serve as a positive role model, advisor and friend
- Build the relationship by engaging in the student’s experience and strive for mutual respect
- Encourage student’s self-esteem and motivation
- Help student set goals and work toward accomplishing them
- Expose mentee to opportunities, contacts and experiences that will help him/her in their personal, academic and career development
- Work collaboratively with Mentoring Committee to address mentee’s individual academic and career development goals
- Be a student advocate – help mentee find resources and solutions to challenges in areas of financial management, internships, campus life, family, peering and community
- Establish a contact plan with mentee – suggested minimum 1x/month via phone or Skype and meet in person at least 3x/year
- Listed in the Annapolis Trust Career Network database as a potential industry contact for all students.
- Possibly speak at educational events for students
