​Sponsor-A-Trust-Scholar

Invest in a student. Invest in our community.

Financial scholarships are at the core of Annapolis & Anne Arundel Scholarship Trust’s model. Anyone can be a sponsor: an individual, a family or giving group or companies can help a student and know they are impacting future generations.

As a Sponsor-A-Trust-Scholar participant, a donor will ideally be paired with a student before they graduate from high school and will contribute $7,200 towards their tuition over the course of their college career. The amount of $6,400 will be distributed directly to the student’s school account on a semester-by-semester basis as long as they have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and adhere to Annapolis Trust requirements. The remaining $800 is retained by the Annapolis Trust to help cover administrative costs, student support and mentoring programming over the student's four year college experience.

A sponsor will receive regular updates on their student and be invited to events during the year that recognize student achievements and provide them with networking opportunities. Ultimately, sponsors are encouraged to become mentors. Mentors are extremely important to a first-generation scholar’s success and options to be a one-to-one mentor or part of our mentoring career network are available. ​

Name Your Scholarship

As a Sponsor-A-Trust-Scholar partner, you can name your scholarship and even specify certain criteria for the student, including areas of study that you may wish to encourage.

Perhaps your company or organization would like to name a scholarship to show the community your support for education? Or your family would like to designate a scholarship to be provided to a student who would like to study a specific field?

Managing a scholarship program requires many administrative steps and our experts can guide you through:

• Program setup: We will guide you in defining criteria and application process; provide promotion, branding and PR support
• Application process: The Annapolis Trust will create the application, receive, review and screen all applications. We will also provide customer service to the applicants during their application and selection process.
• Selection process: As a neutral party, we will work with you to choose recipients within your parameters with our experienced personnel, and will provide notification to all the applicants once the decision is final. We will verify all documents for final selection and provide Student agreement.
• Renewals: The Annapolis Trust will inform students of all criteria needed for renewal, review and complete payment process. Also, we will provide customer support to the student and school as needed.
• Tracking: We can provide provide reports to determine the success of the scholarship program.
