We want to know what's important to our students. Our Student Advisory Board serves this purpose, and is a vital part of the Education Foundation, giving students across our district a voice. With representatives from each high school, students are given opportunities to make connections across the district, take on leadership roles, and get involved in the important work of the Education Foundation. Our enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers act as ambassadors for the Education Foundation: they play a crucial role in helping spread the word about the Foundation's work, and help at various events throughout the year (e.g. College Fairs, Career Expos, and Back to School Nights). In addition, we encourage our SAB members to take an active role in helping us determine our funding priorities - whether it's by helping to judge the Student Empathy Grants, or letting us know what issues are important on each campus.
One of the SAB's past projects was to create an area on this website where high school students could find suitable volunteer opportunities. Interested? Click on the SAB Community Service Hub, and find out more!

MEET OUR STUDENTS!
Avishawd Yarisaied (ah-vee-shawd) - Secretary, Branham High SchoolMy name is Avishawd Yarisaied, I am a junior, and I am joyous to serve as a student representative for my community! I am fond of acting, singing, dancing, playing sports, and advocating! In the Branham Community, I serve as a club officer of Days for Girls, Muslim Student Association, Equity Team, and I am the Founder and President of Echoed VOICES, a charity slam poetry club. I serve as an Ambassador and Media Ambassador of the California Association of Student Leaders and the President of the youth-led organization, Hope for the Unhoused. Through these experiences, I have listened to many beautiful stories and been able to connect and unify our voices, through our similarities and symbolic differences. Utilizing your voice is truly an expression that can be executed in everlasting forms, and I strive to represent and exhibit this at the district level, for all.
