Welcome to Calidan Emerald Foundation
THE FOUNDING DIRECTOR'S ADDRESS
It’s been almost 24years since we lost my husband and the father of my four wonderful children. Late Major C.D Nwambuonwo was one of the military officers killed in the tragic C-130 Airplane crash at Ejigbo-Lagos state on 26th September 1992. I can assure you that indeed this odious journey of widowhood and fatherlessness for the family has been a mixture of pain, joy, sufferings and blessings. However, through the faithfulness of the awesome God we serve we have come through more blessed than ever. The Calidan Emerald Foundation(C.E.F) and its affiliate The Calidan Missions as it is known in the U.S started as a result of these multiple experiences and it’s been four wonderful years of having the privilege to give back to the needy: widows, orphans and the fatherless. Unlike the typical foundations where the rich and famous give for the popularity or the need to spend money “somewhere or anywhere”, this foundation is our widow’s mite to God and to humanity. It is based on our sense of gratitude to God almighty for bringing us through trials and tribulations, sorrows, joys and blessings of widowhood and fatherlessness. To Him be the Glory. It is therefore in obedience to the biblical injunction “Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless in this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from been polluted by the world (James 1:27), that we say come therefore with us , plead the cause of the hopeless and the helpless amongst us. Your supports and contributions are highly appreciated. Thank you and God bless. |
