Positions Description
Social Work / Aftercare Intern/Fellow (Nigeria)
Interns are expected to have completed a graduate or are pursuing an under graduate course in social work, international development or related fields. Tasks will vary according to work in progress; however, participants are expected to perform tasks that include:
- Researching and develop and implement programs that include best practices, for policies and procedures regarding casework, specific aftercare issues such as: grief management, transitional development, basic training, and economic empowerment.
- Performing case studies and evaluations.
- Providing support for beneficiaries and participating in department and general administrative support.
Accounting / Finance Intern/Fellow (Nigeria and Arizona)
The accounting department is a crucial part of TRF. Accounting intern will assist with disbursement, bookkeeping reconciliation in the field and oversight of the micro finance activities. Graduates and undergraduates with classes in accounting, finance and or business would be preferred for this position. Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Processing data such as cash advance, request and advancement reconciliations, credit card and expense reports.
- Input of related financial data into TRF accounting system.
- Assist in the review of accuracy and compliance with local and national policies.
- Researching various regulatory and procedural matters for the department.
Communications Intern/Fellow (Nigeria and Arizona)
The communications department will include such positions as:
Editorial Interns, Constituent Interns, Multimedia Interns, Web Development Interns.
Participants must have a minimum of one year or more experience in web development and coding either in a professional or freelance setting.
Communications Interns will assist with creative projects and media relations to raise awareness or TRF missions and on going work

Donor Intern (Nigeria and Arizona)
TRF is in its infancy and growing stages. The Donor Intern is, therefore; a very vital and integral participant in this department in the tasks and projects related to fundraising. Such tasks would include but not limited to:
- Assisting the Donor, Foundation and Special Events teams with planning and program support.
- Corresponding with IJM donors and potential donors via e-mail, telephone and mail to support fundraising initiatives;
- Researching and assisting in donor prospecting projects;
- Researching current and potential foundation and institutional partners to strengthen current relationships and develop new partnerships;
- Researching and assisting in internet fundraising efforts and the effective use of social networking sites;
- Researching fundraising, marketing, and other development techniques, including benefit dinners and small events; and
- Assisting with general department needs, including mailings and database support.
Education Intern/Fellow (Nigeria and Arizona)
Church Mobilization Interns/Fellow
Interns will assist with programs designed to involve church participation and partnerships with TRF. Tasks would include but not limited to:
- Researching, editing and contributing to the tools and resources developed to support the initiatives of the Church Mobilization department;
- Managing and responding to churches and other faith-based organizations’ inquiries;
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of several TRF speaking engagements;
- Supporting Model and Partner Churches;
- Researching current Church Mobilization programs and developing new initiatives; and
- Participating in departmental and general TRF administrative support.
Prayer Mobilization Intern/Fellow
Prayer is a cornerstone of TRF services. Interns will assist with various programs to grow new prayer partners and enhance deeper engagement with existing prayer partners.
- Assisting in the project planning and execution of the annual multi country Prayer Gathering
- Researching and developing curriculum to offer to Prayer Partners;
- Managing correspondence with prayer partners (through email and social media formats) and maintaining the prayer email inbox;
- Drafting monthly Prayer Updates and disseminating urgent prayer requests;
- Researching prayer focused organizations and related topics
- Participating in departmental and general TRF administrative support.
Human Resources Intern/Fellow (Nigeria)
Participants will assist TRF HR department with research and support of various initiatives in recruiting, training, and HR general practices. College graduates with classes in human resources, communications or organizational development are preferred.
- Researching a range of recruiting, training and compliance best practices;
- Coordinating various audits, such as benefits and job description audits;
- Assisting with tool creation projects;
- Planning for TRF’s new staff training week;
- Managing department inboxes; and
- Participating in departmental and general TRF administrative support.
