Sara Bethune - Resident Costume Consultant
Emmy-nominated costume designer, Sara Bethune, is on staff at CBN as a wardrobe stylist/costume designer, where she’s worked for nearly ten years. She also costumes for the stages of local churches including Kempsville Presbyterian Church, Wave Church, London Bridge Baptist Church, Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church and Grace Community Church; at schools including Bayside High School, Regent University, Homeschool Plus, and theatrical companies including Arts Inclusion Company, Generic Theater, Salvation Army Kroc Center, and CAST. She maintains her own stock, considering herself to be a storyteller with clothing rather than a fashion artist. Sara is excited to join KPCT as Resident Costume Director helping them fulfill their mission of supporting, encouraging, and empowering Christian Artists bringing honor and glory to Jesus! |
Mary Henaghan - Community Outreach Coordinator / Director
Mary has spent the last 10 years living her dream teaching drama and technical theater to middle and high school students at Kingdom Education for Young Scholars in Chesapeake. While she is usually found directing and teaching, Mary has performed in some capacity throughout her life, as well. She has most recently performed in the cast of It’s a Wonderful Life at Kempsville Presbyterian Church, The Women at The Little Theater of Norfolk, and in the movie Cycle. She was also part of the cast of The Man Called Jesus for two years and spent many years performing in children’s theater. Mary views the theater and film industries to be great mission fields, and her passion is to train and equip people to use their gifts to further the kingdom of God and perform for an Audience of One. |
Stephanie Cason - Education Coordinator / Director / Instructor
Stephanie is thrilled to be joining KPCT where she desires to grow positive relationships in our local theatre community and to share God’s love through encouragement and creative endeavors with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. With an Acting/Musical Theatre/Directing BFA from Wright State University in Dayton, OH, she has been performing and directing professionally since 1997. After marrying Kelly Cason in 2003 and traveling for his work in Radiology, the Lord eventually moved them to Virginia Beach where Stephanie began her career as a Drama Teacher at Young Musicians of Virginia in 2008, and she enjoyed nine years of working with homeschool families and developing the YMV Theatre program. While raising their sons, Joshua and Gabriel, she has taught classes and directed shows around Hampton Roads. Her most recent theatrical home has been Norfolk Christian School, since 2013. Her time at NCS has been fruitful and God has taught Stephanie so much about building relationships and valuing all students as image bearers of Christ. Now, she is excited to see what the Lord has for her to learn and share in this next adventure. As always, “Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.” Psalms 63:7 |
Angela Brown - Instructor King's Daughters Dance Intensive
Angela Brown is a musical theater veteran performer. Her Broadway credits include Mamma Mia! (Broadway), Wicked (Los Angeles cast), 42nd Street (The 2001 first national tour), Gigi (Reprise Los Angeles), and Aida (Regional) Her television credits include Victorious, Hollywood Heights, Last Man Standing, Good Morning America, The Jay Leno Show and Ariana Grande’s music video “Put Your Hearts Up”. Currently, she is a Director and Choreographer of over 5 shows at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Also, Angela has taught at the renowned Governor’s School for the Arts (2019-2021) in Virginia along with Musical Theater Workshops and Master Classes from San Francisco to New York City, where she taught dance styles from Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap. She is an adjudicator for the World Class Talent Experience (2018-Present) and a Teacher for the Turn It Around (2021-Present) national dance convention. In addition, she is the Junior Musical Director with RPM Productions (2015-Present). She has served much-underprivileged youth throughout the years by teaching for non-profits such as "A Place Called Home", "The Children's Institute Performing Arts Program" and "The Broadway Connection Musical Theatre Workshops". Angela has choreographed for companies such as the Coastal Broadway Collaborative Summer Intensive and Theatrix Productions’ Godspell. Angela is the owner and artistic director of Inspiring Artists, LLC., where we inspire others to cultivate their performing arts skills. Inspiring Artists has established several outreach serving arts classes for youth along with providing quality choreography and directing services. Angela holds a B.S. degree from Norfolk State University and has studied with many great teachers in NYC and LA. She is also a proud SAG/AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild) member. Ms. Angela has been blessed to teach and share her love of the performing arts and loves to inspire the next generation of performers for God’s glory. |
Hannah Carter - Legal Advisor
Hannah E. Carter, Esq. serves as an advisor for the KPCT board. Attorney Carter completed her juris doctorate at Regent University School of Law. During which time, she served as Vice President for the Council of Graduate Students and Senator for the School of Law. She also was a board member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Board and placed 2nd in the nation for top negotiators for the America Bar Association Negotiations Competition. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French. Prior to law school, Attorney Carter served on numerous political campaigns and developed a passion for voters rights and grassroots advocacy. She has also worked for non-profits who focused on championing the needs of children of all ages. Since law school, Attorney Carter has worked to advocate for the needs of some of the most vulnerable children throughout Hampton Roads as a Guardian ad litem. In 2017, she launched her own law practice, and opened a boutique law firm focusing on child advocacy, and family law related issues (Custody, Divorce, Adoption, and Child Support). Since that time, Ms. Carter’s firm has also expanded her practice to include Trademarks, Non-Profit Formation, and Wills and Trusts. While Ms. Carter loves her profession, her most treasured roles are found in being a wife to her husband, Abraham, and a mother to her two daughters who are advocates in the making. |
Dana Wynn - Legal Adviser
Dana Wynn - Dana is a native of Virginia. She attended ORU for undergraduate, then became a flight attendant with SWA. While flying and living in San Diego, Dana earned her JD degree. She opened a practice in San Diego handling custody cases and serving as a minor's counsel (called a guardian ad litem in VA). Dana then became a judge in Family Settlement and Small Claims Courts. After living in San Diego for 17 years, they moved to Chesapeake, VA. Since that time they have adopted 14 kids (they have 17 kids altogether), and ten years ago Dana began pro bono work defending children who had been rescued from a life of human trafficking and soon after opened a ministry, housing and educating former victims of trafficking. Dana teaches law at Liberty University and Colorado Christian University. She and her husband, Alan, have just opened a new business with Beachfront Vacation Rentals. Their daughter, Alyssa, began acting with Carrie’s Shine Like Stars program through HSP at the age of five. Dana is excited, as are they all as a family, to be working with such an amazing community theatre program committed to sharing Jesus with our community! |
Mrs. Alicia Edwards - Instructor/Choreographer Spring 2024 Musical
Alicia began her dance passion at the age of 5 in Yonkers, NY, taking up Ballet, Jazz and Tap. For over 15 years Mrs. Edwards has performed as a student and teacher in various locations all over the United States. Studying at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, MD she was sought out to perform with Acro-Airs team performing all over the east coast. She has worked with numerous community groups teaching lyrical dance for churches and community programs. Alicia’s love for dance did not wain after marriage and children. With a belief that lifelong learning is essential for all, she began to expand her repertoire to include dance forms such as Belly-Dance, African traditional, African modern, Mexican folkloric, and Theatrical. Upon relocating to El Paso, TX, Mrs. Edwards was scouted by the professional dance troop the Sun City Girls and taught dance fitness in the El Paso Independent School District. In 2016 she relocated to Hampton Roads, and she is still sharing her passion with the community. |
Shayne McCatty - Stage Manager Spring 2024 Musical / Instructor
Shayne McCatty is an director/actor born in Virginia Beach. He attended the Visual and Performing Arts Academy, at Salem High School, graduating in theatre and later attended the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts earning a degree in film/television. His theatre highlights include: Aslan/Co-Director for “Narnia the Musical”, Cinderella’s Prince in “Into the Woods”, Homer Zuckerman in “Charlotte's Web”, and Asst. Director for “Hairspray”. Shayne is the musical theatre director for the Children’s Theatre of Chesapeake and Co-drama director for Celebrate Jesus Ministries, where he writes and directs original musicals. Shayne can also be found teaching theatre at Global Christian Co-op & New Harvest Co-op, doing photography, and producing music. |
