Debra grew up in Illinois. However, it is Louisiana that she calls home. It was in Louisiana, on July 11, 1979, that she was born again. Her life was forever changed at that point. An exciting journey began, stemming from a strong desire to know the One who transformed her life.
Praying and seeing other lives changed was a big part of her walk. Debra is the mother of three amazing people. Amazing and miraculous. She was told she would never bear children, ….. but God! He healed her and gave her Hannah, James and John. Her children were reared up in Louisiana and knowing Jesus!
Debra and her husband, Faustino (Jun) work in the medical field. Debra works as an RN in surgery. Debra is known as Nurse Sunshine. She loves to bring joy and laughter to her patients. So many that come into her care are scared and nervous. Sharing Jesus’ love and laughter with them soothes and calms them. Her famous quote is “laughter is a medicine that has no side effects, and it won’t show up on your bill!”.
Debra and Jun have a lively, blended, multicultural family. (Countries including, USA, Philippines, Haiti, Trinidad, Ecuador, and Louisiana!) Their family presently has 8 adult children and 2 beautiful granddaughters.
Debra fell in love with the arts at an early age while acting in school. It was then she saw the positive effects of entertainment. It wasn’t until recent years that she became involved again. The arts are an amazing place to bring joy and healing to people in a non-traditional method.
Debra began her journey with King's Players as her granddaughters became involved in various shows. Then she started on the prayer team. It has been an honor to pray for the ministry and see God do amazing things both in and through the ministry. Seeing the character and vision of the ministry teams and Board then led her to moving into the role of ministry director.
