Primitiva Hernandez, Executive Director(She, Her, Ella)
Primitiva Hernandez is the Executive Director of 805UndocuFund, serving Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. An immigrant from Mexico and a DACA recipient, she has lived in the California Central Coast since childhood and is the daughter of farmworker parents. Her personal experience as an undocumented college student and working parent fuels her dedication to immigrant rights and supporting the undocumented community. With over ten years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector and local housing authorities, Primitiva was recently accepted into the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality Institute. Current Chair for the Santa Barbara County Climate Collaborative. Community Organizer & Program Support SpecialistOur Community Organizer helps coordinate the 805 Immigrant Coalition, working alongside local organizations to align regional campaigns and advocacy strategies that advance immigrant rights.
This role plays a key part in organizing community participation in emergency planning and advocating for culturally and linguistically competent disaster systems that include undocumented communities. They also support public safety and climate response efforts to ensure they reflect the lived experiences of our region’s most vulnerable residents. In addition to advocacy and mobilization, our Community Organizer provides general support across programs, helping with outreach, coordination, narrative storytelling, and community education. This role manages community education, emergency response coordination, and hotline operations to protect undocumented and vulnerable communities. Responsibilities include training leaders, disseminating Know Your Rights materials, coordinating with partner organizations, vetting ICE activity reports, and managing the 24/7 hotline. General Support
805UndocuFund’s Temporary General Program Support Staff provides essential administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director and program team. This hybrid role assists with scheduling, data entry, community outreach, event coordination, and volunteer support for the Rapid Response Network. The staff member also helps with communications, including translation, social media content, and responding to inquiries. Their work ensures smooth daily operations and strengthens program delivery across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
