Rain and Then Some
What if we had beautiful sunny days throughout the year which many would find delightful? But wait a minute, not so fast, you would end with a veritable desert on the level of Death Valley Ca! Indisputably, we need April showers for May flowers for many reasons which are innumerable to mention, but it is sufficient to say, it is for the survival of every living organism and, yes, it includes you and me. Incidentally, Do you love the smell of rain?

If I were to ask you whether your personality has changed in retrospect, from 40 years ago, or 30, 20 or the last 10 years, do you see a notable change in your personality? Invariably, if we were to answer this question honestly, we would unequivocally say "yes."
Ironically, though, most of us cannot see ourselves changing much at all if we were to project ourselves into the future, but the fact is, we will change based on whatever we experience or by solidifying our core values. In this article, I will share whatever it’s worth, my personal observation and research on changing our personality for the better. And Incidentally, I am not advocating a new year’s resolution since they do not provide sustainability. A fellow from the east coast stated he could not wait to visit California because he has never seen a watermelon tree. It struck me funny, however, the truth of the matter is, I am ambivalent or have mixed emotions to his statement because many do not have a clue of how things grow which is a sad commentary much like many thinks of milk coming only from the corner store and give no thought to its derivation.
When we think in terms of human and animal interaction, we immediately think of our canine friend or our feline companion. However, the interaction is so different when compared, in that the dog when fed and taken care of looks at you as god. But when the cat is fed and taken care of, your feline friend becomes god, a diametrical difference of animal behavior. But the interplay of the human and animal connection is not by any means limited by them as I will share in this article.
At my routine dental appointments, I am always asked "are you allergic to anything?" My unwavering and resounding response is "absolutely! I am allergic to pain." However, putting levity aside, when we speak in terms of allergenic chemical intolerance, it is by no means to be taken lightly in that it affects so many people with an array and varied degrees of debilitating symptoms. And in this article I will share some of my findings on this topic, however, I would encourage you to do your own research as well.
When planning a landscape design, we must consider our predominant weather conditions such as amount of sunlight, source of water, soil conditions, exposure to wind, and of course, existing plants and living creatures in our natural environment.
In one of this week's episodes, my guest, a professional landscape designer spoke to these factors that make for an integral part of a well-balanced ecosystem. Most people with a wonderful sense of humor understand that loneliness, anxiety, depression along with comedy are related somehow. In fact, comedians tend to be the loneliest people in the world, always craving attention, and it is no wonder they find solace in performing because for a little while they feel fulfilled. And as for the audience, I would suspect they are also there because they need someone to make them laugh since they share the same feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Do you remember the old TV show "Kids Say the Darndest Things" hosted by Art Linkletter 1945-1969? He speaks of the story of his granddaughter asking him what to talk about in front of her class, and he replied, "I am sure you can come up with something appropriate to say on your own." The next day, while holding Art's hand she says to the classroom, "this is my grandpa, he is 80 years old, and he is still alive."
The idiom says, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away," and this works amazingly well, “providing you can throw straight.” With that said, who really enjoys visiting the doctor? Visiting the doctor’s office tends to make some of us feel apprehensive, especially when we have a particular concerned. And it is often the case, those unsettling feelings come from not knowing what to expect, therefore, we tend to procrastinate and prolong our healthcare routine which can be consequential.
Did you know Cooking is the primary cause of home fires and injuries? According to the National Fire Protection Association. Kitchen Ranges or cooktops create up to 62% of home fires.
In one of this week's episodes, we discussed a revolutionary product that serves as a fire retardant thus home and family are protected from forest wildfires and accidental fire within the home. In fact, ironically, my guest mentioned of his visit to Maui two years ago to promote this amazing product, however, in their infinite wisdom showed little interest in the product and considering what subsequently happened to Maui, all I can say is hindsight is always 20-20. |
