NARRATIVE:
Our agency was organized in 2004 in Toledo, Ohio as a Faith-based 50l (c) 3 non-profit corporation. It has developed into a Community Development Corporation. We have developed principles and initiatives that deal with the causes of problems in ways that build on the strengths of the people and community. The work of the agency is carried out by an Executive Director, staff members, volunteers, and a network of other agencies. All entities are in harmony in that its purpose shall be for the improving of the quality of life for low-income community residents. This is accomplished by addressing the needs of the total man in the areas of (a) Spiritual/Mental; (b) Education; (c) Social; (d) Physical and (e) Economics. Services are also provided to assist in acquiring resources needed to gain and retain competitive employment. The goal is to empower persons moving them from dependency to self-sufficiency and to securing economically rewarding lives.
Several programs have been designed for the low-income urban areas of Toledo. Comprehensive services with a broad range of family strengthening activities including crisis intervention, case management, housing assistance, and job training have been provided.
As National Provider for Developmental Disabilities our services include Adult Day Habilitation, Transportation, Vocational Rehabilitation, Specialized Assessments, and Community Based Work (regardless of which program or service you choose); our goal is to provide premier services that exceed all expectations of our program participants and referral sources. Additionally, the agency would like to contribute to the education and achievement of everyone’s overall life goals and desires, as appropriate and/or attainable.
