About the speaker, Dr. Constance Shabazz Constance D. Shabazz, M.D. is the Principal/Owner of Health Resources Consultants, Inc. (HRC) based in Chicago, IL. Dr. Shabazz has over 37 years of experience working in public and community health. She has served as a Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer at health centers in the Chicago area. Dr. Shabazz utilizes her extensive management and training skills to serve as a Chief Medical Officer coach and mentor. She conducts compliance site visit preparation services and is a source expert presenter of workshops, webinars, and trainings. Topics she has presented include the 19 HRSA Program Requirements, Managing a Multi-Cultural and Multi-Generational Workforce, Quality Improvement, and Credentialing and Privileging. Currently she serves as a clinical consultant for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). She has provided technical assistance and training to the over 200 Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) health centers across the U.S. and the Virgin Islands. She received a medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and a Master of Business Administration and Public Health from St. Xavier University in Chicago. In 2001 she was selected as a Public Service Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where she also earned a Master of Public Administration. From 2006-2007, Dr. Shabazz was a Fellow in the Healthcare Leadership Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Shabazz also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Graham School of Business at St. Xavier University. |
