“Today, communities across the country are flourishing because we live in an era of self education, innovation in health care, personalized medicine, open source technology, and exponential growth across various industries. We the citizens of the South Side of Chicago deserve the same growth, care, education, and innovation. It is time that we use innovation to find solutions to chronic underlying conditions that are killing black communities disproportionately.” Leslie is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Comprehensive Biological Sciences. During his tenure, Leslie contributed to manuscripts through his research at Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine’s Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics concerning the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying a variety of complex eye diseases. Leslie is currently pursuing a Medical Doctorate. |
