“I was reared in a home where mediocrity was not acceptable. I was reared in a home that taught me that while striving for excellence, do not forget those who may not be as gifted or fortunate. I have held onto and lived the teachings of my upbringing. I have achieved academic excellence by attending and graduating from Princeton University, then Harvard Medical and Harvard School of Public Health (concentration in health policy and management). I have committed my professional career, in New York City and the South Side of Chicago, to serving the medically underserved. My patients bring me joy and teach me so many things, but they also bring me great distress as I also see their struggles and disparate medical care. Millennial Beacon is a healthcare incubator focused on the communities which I serve. Millennial Beacon will allow expansion of my reach in these communities and be a force in positively moving the needle of improving healthcare for the underserved.” Dr. Johnson is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery. She also has special expertise in wound care and management and surgical procedures to alleviate painful diabetic neuropathy. |
