I greet you in the Joy of Jesus:
I appreciate your confidence in re-electing me as the Connectional Lay Organization Director of Public Relations for the years 2025-2029. This opportunity will allow me to continue serving you and support the Connectional Lay Organization worldwide. As we move into this next phase of service, I encourage you to join me on this journey. The 39th Session of the Connectional Lay Biennial Convention took place in Atlanta, Georgia, within the Sixth Episcopal District, and it was a significant and lasting experience. |
The energy and enthusiasm displayed during this Convention reflected a renewed commitment to our mission, as lay leaders and members from all corners of the globe came together to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and cast a bold vision for the future. Through worship, fellowship, and thoughtful discussion, we discovered new ways to empower one another and expand the reach of our ministry. The impact of our collective efforts was evident in the spirit of unity that permeated every session and conversation.
Please visit your page on the CLO website (ameclay.org) at your convenience and share your updated information with me via email at [email protected] by October 15, 2025.
In the spirit of progress and unity, we must recognize the importance of communication and collaboration within our organization. Sharing our experiences and insights strengthens the foundation of our ministries. The connections made during the Convention remind us that everyone’s contribution, regardless of their role or location, is essential to the ongoing success of the Connectional Lay Organization. Through the active participation of every lay member, we become a dynamic force for good, inspiring growth and fostering change in our communities.
The work ahead requires bold innovation and a willingness to seize new opportunities. As we strive to build bridges across districts and among young adults worldwide, let us recommit ourselves to the values of inclusivity, transparency, and spiritual growth. With faith as our guide and one another as our support, the legacy of this Biennial Convention will continue to shine brightly, illuminating paths for everyone to see.
This office ensures that visitors can find up-to-date information about your elected office through an intuitive and accessible website. It will provide up-to-date information for districts, one through twenty, at both local and connectional levels.
The First Vice President, Dr. Dorothy Henderson, chair of recruitment, and I worked closely together to increase the Connectional Lay Organization Membership and Database. Our goal of over 10,000 was reached at the 39th session of the CLO Biennial. Our next goal is for the We Speak Quarterly Magazine to become a periodical of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Together, we can accomplish this goal.
I encourage you, as lay officers, members, laity, and clergy at all levels, to submit your articles on ongoing activities in your districts promptly by the requested deadline. This will help ensure that the CLO can present these consistent facts to the CLO Executive Board and Council of Bishops for consideration of the “We Speak Magazine” becoming a periodical of our great Zion, the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
With your help and dedication, we will continue to update the website that serves as a platform to disseminate news from around the world. Therefore, as you visit the website, please share suggestions that will help attract young adults. This will allow members of the CLO and potential members to see what the CLO has to offer.
I cannot update your pages unless you provide the necessary information, nor can I share a magazine without receiving your articles. Let us work together to achieve all goals set by all offices. All articles must be approved by your District President before submission and submitted by the District Director of Public Relations only. Beginning in November 2025, all articles are due by the 10th of each month as we advance to 2029. Please visit the website for the guidelines on articles under Resources.
My team consists of the Elected District Director of Public Relations from each district, as well as the Advisory Board Chair, Mr. James C. Bonner, Jr., Mr. Robert Turner, Vice Chair, and Co-Chairs, Ms. Martinique Mix and Mr. George Gordon, Bro. Caesar Kalenga, and Bro. Simon Letsoko. The CLO President, Bro. Matikane Abednego Makiti will approve each magazine for publication in both electronic and Hard-Copy Versions.
Let us continue “Living A Global Witness Ministry That Transforms, Transcends, and Liberates” Luke 4:18-19.
“And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus and come with him into the presence of God the Father to give him your thanks.” Colossians 3:17 (TLB).
