We love having families and children volunteer at the shelter together. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, relative, or legal guardian over the age of 18. The guardian must be a trained volunteer or attend a Volunteer Orientation along with their child, as well as sign a release of liability form. Teens between the ages of 14-18 are eligible for our Summer Teen Internship Program as well, which allows them to intern over the summer without their legal guardians.

​Become a part of our Family Dog Rescue shelter family!
Volunteers help the shelter run by walking, grooming, playing with and training our dogs. They also help with shelter maintenance, administration, transportation and cleaning. By volunteering, you will learn more about how to train and care for dogs. All volunteers will need to attend an orientation and supervised walk, and we ask for a minimum weekly commitment over the first 4 months. All volunteers 17 and under should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Groups of 4-10 volunteers come in to help clean and organize the shelter, as well as play, walk and bathe the dogs! Shifts are usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 1-4pm. Sign up for a group volunteer day now.
