Special Surfers has always been free to participants, but even as a volunteer organization we have significant costs associated with running the Program. Below are several ways you can help, and your donation is a vital part of purchasing the equipment we use and making sure that the underlying, year-round work can be done in order to safely host our special surfing experiences!

$125 covers the costs for one surfer to spend a summer evening on the water supported by the equipment and volunteers that produce endless smiles

Other Ways You Can Support Special Surfers

A $1,500 donation is enough to cover the Chair Setup to keep our Special Ops participants safe and stable. We strap our surfers into a specially mounted carbon race seat with custom harnesses and when they're little, a tumbleform to fit their body.

A $1000 donation could purchase a Soft Surfboard that provides durability and comfort to our general population of Special Surfers. We use mostly large soft SUPS for stability, float and GUARANTEED success.

$500 could buy a Splashy Chair suited to our youngest surfers’ small frames

$150 would be enough to provide a Wetsuit to keep our surfers and volunteers comfortable in the cold Maine waters
