How Service Dog Solutions Started

​​I have spent my entire life outside in the fields hunting and training dogs.  As a professional dog trainer, I have trained hunting dogs, bomb detection dogs, search and rescue dogs and many other.  I enjoyed training competitive retrievers and running my dogs in hunt test against other trainers.  This all changed in 2015 when I was asked to train a service dog for a young child with cancer.  After learning about the cost associated with getting a service dog (Over $20,000) and the many years on a waiting list,  I was convinced there could be a better way to get dogs to those who need them.  Giving my own dog to this kiddo was more rewarding than any title or ribbon I could have won in the trials.  This is why we created Service Dog Solutions.  We have combined the outdoors, hunting and training dogs with the need for service dogs.  We use the donations that we receive from our Sportsmen, take them on some great hunting trips, while funding our mission of training and placing service dogs.

​Who We Are!

​Service Dog Solutions is a Non-Profit Organization. We train and place Service Dogs at no cost to the individual. We help Military Veterans and Civilians, including kids with disabilities.  We do require a letter from a healthcare provider stating that our clients will benefit from a Service Dog.

​​Knox

Up for Adoption

​Not every dog that enters our program is meant to become a finished service dog. Knox will be better suited for a companion home and we are currently taking applications for his forever home. 


​​Rip

Service Dog in Training

Rip is living his best life as a foster-dog in Nashville. He is a country boy living it up in Music City. Rip will come back to SDS later this year to finalize his training to be with a person in need of a service dog. 


​Sampson

Service Dog in Training

Sampson is a large mix breed that was rescued from the Marshall county Animal Shelter. Sampson loves being around everyone.


​Huddie

Service Dog in Training

Huddie is a very special boy. His training and placement has been fully funded by a very generous individual. Huddie spent his early puppy stages with one of our incredible foster families and is currently with our trainers finishing his specialized training before being placed with a Veteran in need. Huddie loves being lazy by the pool and sharing the couch with a kitty friend. 


​Millie

Service Dog in Training

Millie came to train with us from a local person who needs her services as a Service Dog. Millie passed her initial evaluation and has become part of the Service Dog Solutions Pack and will be back with her owner after she completes her training.
