ACTION
OVER 100,00 lbs OF PLASTIC AND GHOST NETS EXTRACTED
The core of Love The Sea’s (LTS) work is extraction of plastic marine debris from coastal regions
only accessible by water while documenting for educational purposes. We monitor local surf and weather forecasts to seize the best conditions for a safe extraction and video capture. LTS then mobilizes a team of experienced water men and women
who utilize boats and jet skis to remove plastic, nets and line debris from hard to reach coastlines and open ocean waters.
The plastic pollution extracted is packed into cubic yard grain sacks and is then transported off the coastline by inflatable rafts, power vessels, or by helicopter when needed. All plastics that can be repurposed are diverted from landfill into the waste to energy program on Oahu.

IMPACT
SAVING ANIMALS WHILE CREATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF OCEAN GUARDIANS
By extracting plastic and nets from the ocean and remote coastlines LTS is protecting many forms
of sea life and creating a generational change for the future. LTS Youth Leadership Program provides youth
with an opportunity to take charge of meaningful projects that engage and inspire the community
to change habits and support our mission. LTS is building a community of effective advocates for a healthy ocean
they wish to experience for themselves and leave for generations to come.

EDUCATION
OVER 5 MILLION PEOPLE REACHED
By raising awareness we educate and inspire people to protect the ocean from plastic pollution.
Locally we educate on responsible use of plastic, by involving the community in specialized events like a sorting day.
On a much larger scale, LTS collaborates with other mediums like Art and Music to reach global audiences,
requesting the issue of plastic impacting the ocean... to be a top priority.

WHY
PROTECT WHAT WE LOVE
Entanglement, strangulation, drowning, ingestion, poisoning, intestinal blockage and/or starvation
could cause species death to the point of extinction and total destruction of sensitive habitats.
LTS creates educational material from our efforts cleaning remote coastlines to protect what we love.
We love the sea as a clean, natural sanctuary for wildlife and people to thrive in.
