are very successful, others aren’t. They struggle, have precarious lifestyle but survive because for most of us, there is more hope to make it outside of our back on the continent. Organizations throughout the Diasporas are mobilizing to meet the needs of their respective

​Our Mission​

The African Diaspora United for Development (ADUD) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization created to be the gateway and the umbrella for all African Diaspora Organizations. We empower our people, lead impactful initiatives, promote unity and philanthropy to create awareness, and address our welfare, socio-political issues within the diasporas in order to improve our lives a thriving continent.​

Our Vision

​We strive for African Diaspora communities standing strong together as one to address social and educational needs in Africa and worldwide. ADUD staff and trained volunteers educate and connect people to resources and encourage community collaboration through social and professional networking events to address health, youth, families, welfare, and community development issues.

​Through our principal pillars Help and Health, Educate and Empower, Lead, and Promote Philanthropy and Unity (HELP), we assist and positively our african diaspora communities by developing programs in direct response to their needs and providing resources where they live abroad thereby ensure that together we make our continent thrive.

Recent News

August 24th 2019 – Back-to-School Backpack Bash​
Africa Diaspora United for Development was back at it for another Back-to-school Backpack Bash, this time at Harmony Hills Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD. With the collaborative help of 100 Black Men of DC, Target, Walmart, Giant and MCPS, ADUD was able to once again contribute a vital service to local minority communities.

With the help of about sixteen volunteers, ADUD distributed over 600 bags. Each bag was divided based on intended age and gender of the recipient. For example, middle and high school students were given 19-inch bags, ​

while elementary age kids were allowed 15-inch backpacks with age appropriate items embedded.  
Fun games and refreshments were available to each family who passed through, along with an arts and crafts center for those with time and younger children. 

With a lively, creative DJ, the crowd and volunteers alike got to listen to Afropop, highlife, American Hip Hop, R&B, old school R&B and Soul music, Reggaeton and Pop music.  

We look forward to once again providing the necessary resources to those from less fortunate starting points, that can help them better learn, grow and achieve. As usual, It was memorable.

​Our 2018 Back to school Backpack Bash (BBB
​On August 25th 2018, ADUD hosted its annual Back-to-school Backpack Bash at Gaithersburg High School. The aim was to provide a community service to families that needed support for their school aged children, by giving backpacks already filled with school supplies.
​
Each bag contained typical school supplies of writing utensils, erasers, glue sticks, folders, notebooks and complimentary snacks. 

There was an abundance of picnic appropriate refreshments to feed each family and volunteer. In addition, quick snack items like popcorn machine and flavored ice was also available. Music was a part of the day, with a great DJ's nice variation of hip-hop, R&B, Afropop, reggaeton, etc.

The day ran smoothly with beautiful late summer weather shining through.  After each family passed through the line, they were encouraged to enjoy several snacks and cold beverages, partake in a few games, get their face painted and even register with ADUD’s contact list.

We helped out about five hundred families, with a variety of gender and age sensitive bags being distributed. ADUD once again demonstrated its values and organizational emphasis on community service and education as an empowering tool among immigrant communities. ​
