Kenyan Enkong U‘Narok Village Support
The Enkong U'Narok village, located in Kenya, are recipients of Love the Wilds financial support. As of January 10th of 2024, our support has gone towards the planting of 1000 trees of varying species to provide a sustainable food source of fruits and vegetables. The building of a greenhouse to help the growth of different trees and plants. As well as feeding the 180 people housed in the village for 9 months.
Education is one of the most important factors in creating a thriving community. That's why we are funding 13 members of the Enkong U'Narok community. We are funding aspirations to become teachers, educators, doctors, funding the studies of environmental science, animal science, and wildlife & management. These students are going towards a goal, and Love the Wild is working to support them. You can see more about each of the students in the CURRENT SCHOLARSHIPS below on this page.

The Well
The well has been the most ambitious project we have undertaken yet. While working with the village, we learned that the women of the village had to carry jugs of water for many miles every day. Not only is this incredibly difficult for these women, it is also dangerous. By heading into the brush so often, they severely run the risk of encountering dangerous wildlife. To help combat this, we decided to build a well. This would support not only the villagers, but their previously mentioned herd of cows. Knowing this, we also chose to build a small culvert that would allow for direct water transport to the cow trough. Unfortunately, this highlighted another problem as soon as wildlife began congregating around the new water source. We know this was a problem so we ultimately decided to create another culvert that would lead into a natural spring. This would create another watering hole for the animals to use that would keep them further away from the village.
