Positive Journey Housing
Positive Journey Housing, Inc. (PJH) operates under the auspices of Helping Kids to Recover, Inc. (HKR) which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community-based organization. HKR has been serving the community since 2007. PJH offers housing for homeless women throughout Los Angeles County. There has been a change in the number of homeless individuals according to Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). The results for the 2019 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, which showed 58,936 people in Los Angeles County experiencing homelessness, representing a 12% rise from last year. Women make up 31% which equals to 18,270. PJH is making a difference in providing a safe and secure housing environment where women can focus on becoming self-sufficient. The homeless situation is a crisis today. There are so many homeless women who are living on the streets, sleeping in cars, parks and alleyways just to name a few. PJH assist women from being homeless to thriving in an independent living environment. PJH has helped over 2,000 women regain their independence by providing an array of services and resources tailored to meet their needs.
